NETRA T SERVERS - Netra t1125/t1120
Sun is in the unique position of being able to offer Carrier-Grade Platforms that are Telcordia-certified. Sun Netra t 1400/t1405 carrier-grade servers with the same form factor have both AC and DC power input; AC power input with Netra t 1125 and DC power input with Netra t 1120. In all other aspects the servers are the same, bringing the quality and reliability of the telco office to ISP environments. A network provider who deploys an application on Netra t 1125 in commercial environments and wishes to deploy the same application in telco central office can simply use the Netra t 1120.
With Sun there is no need to compromise.
The Netra[tm] t 1125 is a compact Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore) NEBS-certified Level 3 carrier-grade server which allows network service providers to deploy mission critical applications and services outside the central office where AC power is the requirement. Netra t 1125 is a compact carrier-grade server that is rackmountable, Telcordia NEBS-certified Level 3 and provides alarm capability that conforms to central office alarm and system management requirements. Based on UltraComputing technology, the Netra t 1125 uses an industry-standard PCI I/O bus. The combination of ruggedized packaging with robust Solaris operating environment enables the server to meet customer's needs from development to deployment.Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are focused on building a reliable network backbone which offers high bandwidth with each server in the network offering the necessary performance and reliability. Additionally, it is essential for ISPs to move servers close to users as it saves ISPs large amounts of bandwidth in the long haul. It also means improvement in network performance that end users can perceive, which is an obvious service differentiator. By meeting Telcordia Central Office requirements Netra t 1125 allows ISPs to move servers out to customers. Typical ISP applications include:
Many telcos are deploying a number of enhanced services outside the telco Central Office into commercial computer room environment. The environment still requires products built to mission critical standards as well as being high performance. Space is often limited so a compact server with a small footprint and minimal height is a necessity with the ability to be rack-mounted. AC power is required in this environment. In this case the Netra t 1125 applications would include:
In the telecommunications network environments there has been a move towards standard, open computer systems for service nodes, network elements and network servers. These systems need to meet a number of requirements. For deployment in the telco Central Office the strongest packaging with full Telcordia compliance and -48VDC is required. Netra t 1120 was developed to meet these requirements.
The Netra[tm] t 1125 server is a carrier-grade system specifically designed for easy deployment in network environments. The combination of ruggedized packaging with the robust Solaris operating environment enables the server to meet customers' needs from development to deployment. A variety of rack-mount options enable the system to be integrated into existing communications equipment, and it can be easily removed for quick repair jobs. Compact, modular, and flexible, the Netra t 1125 server uses an industry-standard PCI I/O bus, so customers can integrate their own PCI 2.1 compliant I/O cards.
Sun's world wide service and support provide the care required by these systems, which are built for use under the most extreme environmental conditions.
